Resilienze

Quo Artis presented the project A Sea Change at Resilienze Festival in Bologna.

Resilienze Festival is a project conceived and produced by Kilowatt that talks about great planetary transformations, interrogating the languages of art to explore alternative points of view and new perspectives of sustainability. In its 7th edition, the festival aims to problematise the theme of climate neutrality by exploring the multiple dimensions of zero through meetings, debates, art installations, book presentations, workshops, screenings, concerts.

On June 10th, at 7.30 p.m. , Tatiana Kourotchkina, founder and director of Quo Artis, will be part of the public conversation : ART AND AI FOR THE ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION .

Through big data and the great computing capacity of supercomputers are now able to create digital twins of our planet, of our cities, but also of factories and other complex systems, including ourselves. The ability to read and interact with complexity is essential today to face the challenge that climate change and man’s unscrupulous action on the planet pose to our survival. Indeed, Gaia has once again made itself felt in its action, and retro-action, as a living entity, an expression of imperceptible interrelationships between the sun, the atmosphere, the oceans, the lithosphere, the pedosphere and the soils (Mc Neill, Engelke 2013).

These “synthetic worlds” present us with opportunities but also challenges, both on an ethical, epistemological and strategic-decision-making level, which it is important to bring out and monitor. From this point of view, art has fundamental reading tools, lateral and critical points of view, as well as an ability to face complexity without fear.

In rapidly evolving contexts such as these, scientific research and the speculative fabulation, typical of art, need each other to generate radical innovations that will transport us into a better future.
