Post - Platform: tracing the unseen, drawing the upcoming

October 2023 - February 2024, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Workshop and online presentation

“Post Platform: tracing the unseen, drawing the upcoming,” is an art and architecture workshop, led by visual artist and architecture professor Nadia Kalara.

The workshop is held in the framework of the European program A Sea Change, which focuses on promoting creative innovation in the cultural and natural ecosystems of the Mediterranean, commissioned by the MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts. The workshop participants are currently students of the 5th cycle of the post graduate program “Advanced Design: Innovation and Transdisciplinarity in Design” of the School of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (http://advanceddesign.arch.auth.gr/) and undergraduate students from the School of Architecture who have completed the course “Art and the City: Unmappings .”

The workshop is part of the teaching agenda of the above-mentioned program, re-considering the specific pier as a public area by the sea. Trying to identify the place’s problems, politics and aesthetics, the participants will apply various unconventional mapping processes to the area of study. The participants are expected to invent their own subjective systems to survey this particular public area, study the invisible activities and the unseen elements, mapping the ephemeral, the tactile and the corporeal while having always in mind the symbiotic relationships between people, the place and the sea.

Participants: Marina Chatzitoulousi, Theocharis Dospras, Aristidis Georgiadis, Christos Gerothodoros, Efthimia Kantourou, Chrysa Koulina, Maria Nantsou, Olympia Nazaridou, Athina Tasiou.
